Angular function at a cosine argument; real Legendre values also accept real degrees.
Upstream: treams.special.lpmv (which takes (order, degree, x)), pi_fun and
tau_fun. Differences: degrees outside [0, 128], non-integer orders, and
non-integer degrees with pi, tau or a complex argument give an error.
