The chiral Fresnel coefficients res[out][in][out pol][in pol], transcribed from
upstream treams.coeffs.fresnel with its variable names.
out and in index the propagation direction (0 = up, 1 = down), so res[0][0]
transmits upward from the negative medium. The inputs index the medium first,
negative side (below) then positive side (above), and the polarization second.
